Baby Blessing

Lydibugs baby blessing was on Sunday March 3rd at our ward Timp park 3rd in Orem UT.

First we had stake conference then we went to my mother in laws ward to ordain my brother in law to a priest. Finally we got ready for the blessing, Lydia wore my blessing dress that my mom made. and we were at our church by 2.

Once as everyone arrived we met in the Young Womens room. I asked that we not do it during sacrament because that is how I saw my sisters do it and have really enjoyed it that way.

Of course Mitch blessed her but we also invited all the other men in the room that could be apart of it to join. The blessing was wonderful and it went by quick. We then spent some time taking photos.

After we gathered at my mother in laws for taco soup and chatting.

Mitch and I ended up at my parents house after ward to spend more time with my sister Kelsi and her family because they traveled from WY to be there and it was their first time meeting Lydia.

I'm so thankful to be born into this church and that my daughter was able to be blessed/ given a name. Lydia and I have such wonderful priesthood holders in our lives and are greatful for all they do.

2 MONTHS

Lydibug just keeps on talking and we love it!
Started grinning really big.
Started sleeping through the night at about 5 1/2 weeks.
Loves showers. Especially the sound of it.
Loves to nuzzle.
Likes to look around and see what's happening.

1 MONTH

Lydia turned 1 week on my 21st birthday and we celebrated together by eating food from Chili's!.

Lydibug as I like to call her, turned 1 month on February 22nd.

Started smiling.
Loves to gab.
Loves laying on her belly so tummy time isn't really a work out.
Loves the bath a ton.

I can't have red sauces, it upsets her tummy.

Had to add this photo just so funny

Walter Frank Beardsley

The Saturday following Lydia Mae's Birth my Grandpa passed away. We had to make the hard decision to stay in Utah while everyone else went to the funeral in Cody Wyoming. For this post I would just like to write memories and whatever else comes to mind.

Memories of Grandpa Beardsley...
Whenever he came down to utah he would always stay at the Sleep INN across from the Provo Tabernacle, It no longer is there due to construction on the new Provo Temple.

Every time he came to Utah he would have to go to Village Inn for milkshakes! One time Meredeth and I were in his car near the time they just finished building the round-a-bout, we were going to get milkshakes with him and when we got to the round-a-bout he kept going around and around. We had to help him get out of it.

Grandpa and his cane... look out, steer clear.

Whenever he would call us, he without fail would ask "What little monkey do I got this time??" and would continue by naming everyone but you. Also he would ask "What's for dinner" "potatoes?"

Up in Wyoming we always would take him to the Irma Restaurant. I also remember him flirting with waitresses at other places. One time when his eye sight was going he just had to ask me if the waitress was cute.

My Grandpa was not LDS but i'm sure he was intune with the Spirit, some how he just knew some things, Like when my sisters were pregnant and mom would ask what he thought they were having and he was always right.
Through out my life I was his Mile Marker. Grandpa Beardlsey promised a long time ago he was going to make it to my High School Graduation. It's interesting he picked mine because my cousin near my age didn't graduate and the next youngest is graduating this year.
Any way Grandpa was not doing well physically and we thought he would not make it down, I had finally accepted that he wouldn't make it but somehow he did. My sisters gave me two Leis and with there bright colors he was able to barely see me with his poor eye sight.

I accepted the fact that he would not make it to my wedding considering he was in bad condition. He had lost his eyesight and on top of that he already couldnt hear. But somehow I happened to find the one and get married and he made it to the wedding!

Near the end of my pregnancy the weekend before, my Mom visited him and he told her that he was not going to make it to february and the doctors were saying something different like march. Well Lydia made her appearance into the world at the right time. My mom told grandpa she was born and he just said "hmm" Like he already knew and then he passed that Saturday.
My mom likes to say that while they passed each other in the realms he "Scared the shit out of her" as a reason to the Meconium staining at her birth.

My grandpa is finally reunited with the love of his life Ruby Eileen.
One day I'll get to meet her and see the kind of person my grandpa is when she is with him.

He was an old fart and really ornery but we loved him anyway.
