12 WEEKS

Already at twelve weeks! So far this pregnancy I have been very tired and nauseous, with occasional dizziness. I've thrown up once and don't have any food aversions yet but the smell of garlic is annoying. I started at about 140 lbs and at my doctor appointment today I weighed 133 lbs.

Speaking of my doctor appointment I went to this new doctor for the first time today and was surprised to find out I get an ultrasound. First the pap smear second the ultrasound and it was so nice to actually see the baby and know for sure that I am pregnant. Our little peanut is measuring right on track, has a beautiful heart beat and wiggles a lot. Next I scheduled the next appointment and talked with a financial adviser and waited to be called back again. I was brought to a different area where they took my blood, I was so nervous to do this part!!!

Well here you go..... Baby number 2s first pictures.

God's little Miracle

Lydia Mae Shira
Born: January 22nd 1:43 P.M.
Weight: 7lbs, 5oz
Length: 20 inches

Friday the 18th -Mitch dropped me off at my parents house where I was going to be spending the night while he was busy with the 24hr LDS film festival. Mom was out of town and so that night my Dad and I went on a lovely date to Olive Garden because I needed a lasagna really bad. They were so busy that the only seats available were at the bar, I was 9 days away from being 21 and the bar tender just kept eyeing my belly then finally said I could eat there because I was obviously not going to drink anything. HA!

Saturday the 19th -was my last day of work at the Ice rink teaching my kiddos and it was also the new due date (previously was the 30th but I was measuring bigger). After work I went to see how Mitch and the guys were doing on their film and the whole time I was starting to have contractions but they were few and far apart.

Sunday the 20th -At home I woke up and went to the bathroom to find that my body was starting to loose the "Plug", so I told Mitchel and then called to tell me mom. My mom was in and out of town for work and visiting her ailing dad so we were worried that I'd go into labor while she was out of town. My mom said usually when you loose your "plug" you can go into labor within 24 hrs to a week. So we knew it was happening any day. All through the day I was having more contractions but they were all over the place and would sometimes stop for hours. That evening Mitch and I went to Target and just walked, Mitchel thought it'd be fun to time each other to see how fast we could walk around the whole store. When we returned home I had some lightning painful contractions for a little bit but then they stopped. That night I woke up around 3 am and again at 7 am to go to the bathroom and there didn't seem to be any progress.

Monday the 21st -My contractions were not consistent for a long time, I hardly even had any. My best friend Carrie came over and went for a walk with me, she left at about 4 and near 4:30 I had a good strong contraction. By 6:15 they were coming every 6 min and were about 50 sec long. Mitch didn't want to get his hopes up like the night before he was getting frustrated with the waiting game. That night I went to the bathroom about 3 times and noticed more and more "plug", I must have been having contractions because I was just so uncomfortable or at least that's what Mitch observed.

Tuesday the 22nd -Early in the morning around 5:15 A.M. I had a very sharp painful feeling in my belly, it felt like someone punched me in the groin, it hurt so bad my back was arching, then I had a crazy painful contraction. I sat up only to have my water break. As I fixed my self up in the bathroom I yelled through the door giving Mitch instructions to warm the car up and grab whatever else he needed that I hadn't already packed. Thankfully my Mom was home and not out of town so I called her to say my water broke and in the middle of talking to her I realized Mitch was still running around crazy so I yelled at him. It was something like "What are you doing? Lets go!!" then I said goodbye to my Mom and we headed out. Every time I had a contraction Mitch would focus on me and not the road so we hit a couple bumps pretty hard and  luckily we hit mostly green lights.

At the hospital (UVRMC) as we were getting in the elevator a Fed ex man came around the corner took one look at us and politely waited for the next elevator. Upstairs at Labor and Delivery Mitch told the lady through the phone that my wife is in labor. We got buzzed through and the lady at the desk was talking to an older couple which took way too long in my opinion, once at the desk she calmly was asking us to sign papers and what not and I just didn't like how slow she was going so I let her know this was not some first time mom false labor thing. I told her that my water broke..and you could tell she realized this was real and she took me more serious, She got me in a wheel chair cause it would be faster then instead of going around and down the hall to some room she zoomed me right back behind the desk through a door to another hall and into a room. I changed into a gown got into the bed when some nurses came in and set me up with an IV, monitors on my belly, and checked my progress I was 90% effaced and was dilated at about 2 1/2 to 3 cm.. One of the nurses was wearing green UVU scrubs and asked if she could be in the room for the delivery which I said was fine. They asked if I wanted and epidural now or wait, as I was contemplating it Mitch said to the nurse that I should have it now (I think he didn't like seeing me in pain lol). We waited not very long before the guy came in and set me up with an epidural. I was fine with getting it as long as I didn't see the needle, he asked me to curl in a ball and arch my back so I did the best I could and he asked me to curl it as much as I could, I told I was and that my back has a natural inward curve (due to scoliosis). With that being said he stuck me! After that ordeal we waited for myself to progress by watching some tv, I think we watched Shanghi Noon. Since arriving I gained 1 cm per hour.

With our luck Dr. Savage was already at the hospital because her son was there having surgery. So she kept going back and forth between the two of us. Around 10 AM she checked me again and I was at about a 7 1/2. She then started to talk to me and my next contraction I felt pressure to push so she checked me again and I was already at an 8 (only within about 5 min). We were starting to progress quickly. She then told us because I had Meconium staining in the water (baby poop from baby being stressed) they would have to work quickly once she is born in hopes that she didn't inhale any poop, so for this to be prevented they would not let her cry when she is born and would have to work fast. I was also told if everything is fine they would put her on me for skin to skin but if she inhaled some then they would have to take her to the NICU Where she could end up for a couple days to a week. I was so worried, and I really wanted to have skin to skin.

They let me do a practice push around 11 am because we were ready to go but then decided to let my body do a little more of it's own work, so I got to take a nap until about noon when they came back and set the room up. Mitch was helping with my left leg and the nurse from UVU was helping with my right leg. My doctor wasn't in the room yet it was just the two nurses. I did some pushes with the nurses when Doctor Savage arrived and pulled out the stirrups, she checked me and they found out that the baby was trying to come out ear first!!! What a stinker. I started pushing again and Dr. Savage was a great cheerleader!!! With each push she had to manipulate the babys head to get it in the right position. Not to far into the pushing I got extremely tired and just closed my eyes and focused on my breathing ( I have exercise induced asthma), Mitchel freaked out a bit and started to shake my arm and was calling my name but I was just too tired to talk and the Dr. even had to tell him that I was fine and i'm just super tired.
Not to long after that I was given an oxygen mask so the baby could get more air, I then pushed for about 1hr and 30 min (Labor was 8 1/2 hrs total). So like I said before Dr. Savage had to twist Lydia because she was coming out sideways, so after quite a bit of manipulating her and pushing Lydia Mae Shira finaly made her way into the world. They set Lydia on my belly and she was covered in Meconium!! the poor thing! Mitch cut the cord and then they took her over to the other side of the room where some guys cleaned her, only to find she was way too pale and was having a hard time breathing so they wisked her away to the NICU after I got one look at her. I told Mitchel to follow her!

Dr. Savage helped me with the rest of the yucky stuff and stiched me up due to a 2 degree tear. I was told I could see Lydia in one hour so I watched Happy Day's and ended up calling my mom and let her know that Lydia was born and she could come to the hospital if she wanted. Mitchel returned to me at about 1 hour later to get our things. My mom arrived and helped mitch while I got in the wheel chair. They took me to see Lydia, she had tubes and wires all over the place it was so hard for me to see!!!! She had a tube down her throat sucking out Meconium that got in her lungs and her tummy, Also had a CPAP machine blowing oxygen into her lungs, and IV and other types of moniters. They said she might be in the NICU for a week or a couple of days.

Down in a new room I was told I had to prove to the nurses that I could hold down food and go to the bathroom before I could see Lydia again, so I hurried and ordered food, held it down well and once as my legs were working I went to the bathroom, durring this time my Dad arrived and got to visit with us and see Lydia as well. Once as I was able we kept visiting Lydia and each time she was doing better then before!! :) By midnight-1am we went to see her one more time before going to bed and to give her some milk and she was no longer in the NICU!!!! :D We turned around and went to the nursery and found her there. I sat down in a rocking chair and Mitchel handed her to me, Finally after 12 hours we got to hold our precious baby girl!! Of course I cried and Mitch cried too. I didn't want to put her down. She looked so much better. I am so proud of my strong little girl. after 48 hours in the hospital we were finally able to take our miracle home!!

                                                                 Holding her the first time.

We are so thankful for a strong and now healthy baby girl!!! What a miracle she is in our life. Can't wait for the journey's to come!

38 WEEKS

Sometimes in the morning I tell Mitch "Find your Happiness today". Well it's about time I take my advice and find my happiness today.

I arrive at the doctors appointment shortly after 12. I am informed Dr. Savage was gone delivering a baby, so I decide to see Lisa instead only to have Dr. Savage call in and say she was headed back and I could see her.

First I leave my sample
Second I wait for like two seconds before the nurse calls me back, and she checks my weight 172-175 (i decided i'm not to0 happy about any more weight being gained) she also checks my blood pressure.

I undress and wait for the Dr to finish with the person before me. Another nurse comes in and offers water and a snack! :)

Dr. Savage comes in and I have no question to ask and I have no swelling, I'm just really hoping for good improvement or news of any kind.

She didn't measure my belly this week. So I assume I'm still at 36 cm.
We listen to my baby's heart beat... Something I will miss doing when she is born. The heart rate changed from 152-142.

Last she checks the cervix...
Dilation is now changed. Last week we were 1 cm this week we are 1 1/2 cm.
Effacement is still about the same at 85%.

Dr. Savage says that the babys head is pretty low and that i'm really soft which is a really good sign for labor.

This is where I have to find my Happiness today. I guess I should be happy that I am now 1 1/2 cm dilated and Dr. Savage seemed pretty happy with my results. Am I not so happy because maybe I was expecting a lot more or expected her to miraculously say lets go to the hospital? Guess I just can't decided when I want my baby to arrive.

Next appointment is set for next thursday... guess we will see if we make it to that appointment or get an early surprise.

37 WEEKS

It gets more and more exciting every week!!! By the way did you know that I'm going every week now?

First off let me say I was nervous for this appointment because i was worried that I might not show any progress at all.

My appointment started at 10:30 and the one time I happen to be early there are zillions of people waiting in the waiting room.

It always starts with me signing a paper stating our insurance is the same.
Second, pee in a cup. Or how they like to say "leave your sample"
Third, Find a seat somewhere and wait.... and wait... and wait.. and wait. It appears that both doctors were behind and the room would not stop filling up.
Finally by 11:25 I was called back.

They check my weight: 172 lbs. NO CHANGE! woot! that means labor is around the corner.
The nurse takes me to the room I sit down and she checks my blood pressure. every thing's normal. She tells me the the dr has caught up and should be in pretty quick. She then leaves so I can undress.

Dr. Savage has arrived. As always she asks how i'm doing and if I have any swelling. Nope no swelling. But I do have questions for her...
First I ask about Registering Early at the hospital, she gave me a card for us to register online. Which we did that night).
Second Should I be more excited if I have dilated more of if the effacement is more. She said most people think it should be the dilation (opening) but it actually should be the Effacement that we look for the most (thinning).
Third I ask her to remind me when to go to the hospital and she makes a list for me....
One: Contractions every 2-3 Min and are hurting.
     Two: Water Breaks
     Three: Vaginal Bleeding
Four:  Baby not moving for 20 min, and can't get her to move.

Now Dr. Savage Measures my belly. it stayed the same too 36 cm.
Our baby girls heart beat went up 130-152
Next and last of all she checks me.
Baby is still head down.
Dilation Still at 1 Cm (want to be a 4 for delivery)
Effacement  70%-85% (need to be close to 100% for delivery)

HOLY COW can you believe I went up 15% in one week!? If I progress the same this next week we could be having a baby! Actually she really could come any day now! I'm so stinking excited!!!

36 WEEKS

Great news of progress!!!

Just before christmas I began experiencing Braxton Hicks Contractions, basically this means practice contractions.

Today I had a doctors appointment and we did quite a bit of things.
First you pee in a cup... again.
Second they weighed me, 166-172 (Holy Cow!)
Next the nurse checked my blood pressure twice because the first time it appeared to high or low. Next I sat and waited.

Finally Dr. Savage came in and asked some questions and I told her of my contractions and other changes in my body.
We then listened to the baby's heart beat, 129-130. I asked her what heart rate is dangerous and she said we would be concerned if it goes below 120.
Next she measured my abdomen which was 36 cm.

The new things we did today consisted of a regular check and a test. The Group B Strep test is basically a quick swab, easy, painless. We will get the results later.
The check was to see how far dilated i am.
Our baby girl is still head down.
Dilation 1 CM (of about 4)
Effacement 70% (of 100%)

The big day is around the corner!!!

This is what's happening this week..

Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, your baby will be considered full-term. Most likely she's in a head-down position, but if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an external cephalic version, where she'll try to turn your baby by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

34 WEEKS

This doctors appointment my weight gain was small 163-166. Our baby's heart rate went down 141-129. I asked my doctor about the due dates the ultrasound tech gave us. Dr. Savage said the due date has been changed to January 19th. So technically if we go off the 19th then I am 35 weeks and 4 days but for all our sakes I will keep going off of my original due date. Dr. Savage said she wont let us go past January 29th which just so happens to be my birthday! We are really excited that our baby girl will be arriving sooner then we expected!!!

34 WEEKS. Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

32 WEEKS.. or is it... ?

This is what's happening this week according to babycenter.com

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

33 weeks says
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal.

At this last doctors appointment on monday, these are the changes that have happened. My weight went from 156- 163lbs. The baby's heart beat went from 150-141. My abdomen measured 30-31cm. When I visited Dr. Savage I informed her that some things had come up that have been worrying me. She advised we do an Ultrasound just to make sure that it is nothing to worry about. So I scheduled that for the next day (tuesday).

TUESDAY: The Ultrasound went great! She didn't see anything that we should worry about. In fact everything is going right. I just loved getting an ultrasound and seeing our little baby girl again. Her face is so cute and chubby, or at least what we could see because she had her hands and a foot near her face! Our baby girl also has some hair on the back of her head, probably just fuzz though. Oh and she is already in the head down position!!! The ultrasound technician took some measurements  and concluded our baby is almost 5 lbs give or take 6oz and that we appear to be farther along because of how our baby is growing. So We appear to be about 8 days ahead of our regular schedule or so, but the several measurements she made concluded a few due dates Jan 22, Jan 20th and Jan 19th.
It's exciting news to find out you are farther along then you thought! Means possible less waiting. Well from this appointment we got to take home pictures and a recording of the ultrasound.

30 WEEKS

Ten more to go!

Our last doctors appointment went well, I just had a swollen ankle from sitting down for too long. My weight went up to 149-156. Baby's heart rate went from 153-150 this time was pretty neat too because we could hear her heart beat so clear, Dr Savage said it was because baby's back was most likely against my tummy.  The next appointment will be two weeks from now instead of four and after a few of those we will b e going every week before the baby is born. I have heard and been told that it will fly by from now on.
We are so excited for thanks giving to pass so we can have Christmas and then finally be in January haha.

Mitch and I were at walmart and ended up signing up to get our pictures taken professionaly, they did it in the Sepia color and we got to dress up all old fashion. I was in a flapper dress with pearls and a hat with flowers. Mitch was in a vest, tie, and old fashion hat. We just picked these pictures up yesterday and sure paid alot for them, I'll just count them as an xmas gift to us or something.

The past month or so I have been wanting to buy a blanket from Gymboree because I like the fabric, the were out of stock for the longest time and finally when they did have at least one I just went a head and bought it. It's pink with cute little penguins and seals on it. I can't wait to use it with her.

Hey I bought a crib!!! It arrived at my parents house the week before thanksgiving and we plan to open and set it up on christmas!! it's a cherry brown color and can transform into a toddler bed and day bed and full bed.

Oh and for those who are wondering the baby shower will be in January for sure at my parents house. I will send out invites once everything is more certain.

28 WEEKS

WHOOPIE!!

Here is my 28 week picture.  and here is what to expect this week...

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world. (coursteousy of babycenter.com)

28 weeks means that I am finally in my third trimester!

We are so excited to be in the final home stretch. She still moves alot and there are not so many flutters anymore, just harder kicks and pushes, and punches. At my last doctors appointment I was concerned about my weight seeing as I gained a bit pretty fast. she just doesn't want me to gain more than 40 lbs total.....well that give me 15 more to go. Also we did a test to see if I have Gestational Diabetes. What happens is you drink this entire bottle of orange soda stuff and wait one hour before they prick your finger and test your blood. Well I passed the test and do not have diabetes.
Dr. Savage asked me if the baby is moving. Boy does she ever, she is very active... So Dr. Savage moves on to listen to her heart beat and as soon as she put the machine on my belly our baby girl kicked back and we could hear the little pop sound of when she hit it. but she didnt' just do it once she did it twice!!! What a stinker.

I'm so excited for the holidays to pass and have her here.  So far we have bought some clothes, baby bath, Stroller with carseat and bases, a Canopy cover for the car seat, a cover for breastfeeding, diapers, and a Sling to carry baby in. Next on my list is a crib!!!
This is it without the cover. it is brown and blue with pokadots. we bought this when we did not know the gender of the baby.
This is Mitch being stubborn and having to be in the picture

"Wait wait another one....... this is me thinking of the baby"
This is the canopy cover.

2nd Trimester

One more Trimester to go!

I am so excited for the holidays, time sure will fly by. This has been my favorite trimester so far, the sickness ended and I felt more like myself. Often times I would get hot flashes or something of the sort. I'm becoming more uncomfortable and bigger, also included is more trips to the bathroom and waking up at night. In this trimester we got the opportunity to have an ultrasound done and see our little baby girl move about, and try to put her hand in her mouth. Also I started to feel her move, At first it was just little flutters and soft nudges.....now as we begin another trimester she is not a flutter no longer but punches and kicks. I do however enjoy watching my belly do the wave or see her kick. Lately I will feel pressure in different place and poke and prod in that area to feel what body part she has pressing against me.. the first time this happened I swear it was the outline of a foot or hand!

I'm gaining weight a little to fast and need to eat more healthy and work out more. At this point our baby is about 14 in and 2 1/2 lbs.

Our plan was to move into my parents house at the beginning of January but now it looks like we will be staying until the end of March if all goes well.  We are excited to be able to bring our baby home to our place but also excited to be able to stay at my parents house again.

Can't wait until our precious girl Lydia arrives.

24 WEEKS

I'm now actually 25weeks but the pics are of my 24th week.
The last couple of weeks I have not been sleeping well, I wake up several times in the night for no reason and this is not helpful because I wake up at 5 so I can be at work by 6.

This past month I have been going to work at Devcon where I am in customer service answering calls, then by noon I would go to Dowdle Folk art and help out with shipping (love this job even though it's harder to be on my feet now) and on tues and thur I go to the Ice Rink and teach.

I know i'm not the best writer/blogger and that i'm not a very creative/ crafty person but i do love to tell everyone whats happening in my life and that is why I have my blog. Actually it's just to keep family updated.

If you know me I was a very skinny person who could hardly gain any weight and my goal was to be 120lbs. Well yesterday I was having a hard time because according to my scale I gained alot in a short time, i'm currently about 148-150. I shouldn't complain, i'm pregnant and supposed to be getting bigger. but it didnt stop me from txting my mom and my sister to talk about how fat i feel.

In happier news Mitch saw the dentist again but they only added something to his mouth and didn't tighten anything. We had a blast with the Bliss fam this past sat. the boys went to the BYU black out game and Meredeth and I went shopping, we bought lunch, groceries and I got a new long red skirt and   a blanket for the baby. That night we went on a date with our men to provo beach resort, it was amazing. On Sunday we went up to WY to celebrate my nephews 6th bday. He is getting so big!
Random note. Lately I have enjoyed playing with my baby. When she is awake and moving alot I will push on my belly and then wait and watch for her to kick that same spot then move my hand and do it again. In sacrament this past sunday Mitch was feeling her move and I had my hand on top of his, she kicked so hard I felt it through his hand on to my hand it was awesome. We also had a little short fun the other day with a flashlight on my belly, she only kicked twice and Mitch seemed to run out of patience. Just so you know I miss having a bathtub, we only have a small shower that barely fits us both, can't wait to have a bathtub again.

Baby Shira

At our appointment, we got straight to it. The lady checked the cervix and then the baby's head, brain looks good. We saw the profile of our baby... that is one of my favorite parts!! We could see the baby moving and swallowing fluids then try to put it's hand in it's mouth. Next we looked at the Heart... everything good there, bladder was good, stomache was good too. Baby has two arms, legs, hands and really cute feet. I saw the baby kick and felt it too, it was awesome!!! Well she told us what we were having then came back and checked it again and it was still the same.

Mitch and I are happy to announce that we are having a Girl!!!!

We like the following girl names,
Lydia Mae Shira
Autumn
Noel

We like the following boy names.
Michael
Samuel James Shira
Sauyer
Bejamin

Baby Shira is the 3rd grandchild on the Shira side and the 9th grandchild on the Hill side.

This is Baby's face side ways. her mouth is open(that black circle on the middle right.)

Ketch up

Just wanting to "ketch up" on my blog.

Mitch is hard working at Dowdle Folk Art, They have him working a lot of over time doing shipping and deliveries and getting things ready for shows.  thats okay though because I have started a temporary job until the baby is born at Devcon security so i'm pretty busy as well. I just finished two weeks of training for customer service and am still getting used to the ropes.

At our last doc appointment the baby's heart rate went down by 10 so now it is at about 153. My sister vanna says slow rate is a boy and a fast rate is a girl. We will just have to wait and see. Sept 11th we will find out the gender and it cant come any faster!!!!

Mitchel's+me, Mom, And 4 brothers+ friend all went to LAGOON!!! it was planned before we found out we are prego so I went anyway. luckily I got a free ticket so I didn't have to pay to sit around. I enjoyed watching everyone have fun and observe those at the park. Don't worry I didn't do anything crazy at the park, my doc said no. So I went on the rides allowed such as the Ferris Wheel, the terror ride, count dracs ride, the ride that takes you across the park and swimming. I went on rattle snake rapids and yes I did go a little crazy and rode the bat one time and was done.
We all had a great time at lagoon.
In my opinion I think Lagoon needs to rid themselves of their Smoke stations. they are placed in dumb places where you can't avoid them. I wish people would step outside the park to smoke.

Sat my Sisters Cookie+ fam, and Ldybug+hubby, all met at City Creek Center to chill and eat because none of us had ever been there. We had a great time,  I truly cherish the moments with my sisters.

Our 1st Anniversary is coming up fast, there is so much we would like to do but not alot of money to spend or time with my work sched. We will see what happens though.

Hope this post wasn't too boring.

1st Trimester

This is my last week of my First Trimester. This week our baby is to be about the size of a Peach (3 Inches long), the Intestines are on the way to it's proper place, and our baby's Vocal Cords are developing.
I have only thrown up once and the last two weeks I have been feeling like my old self again, other than the retarded constipation. I love fruits!!! The only thing the baby and I don't like is Ranch, Don't let us smell it or taste it YUCK! I only have one pair of shorts/ capris that are comfortable to wear and I'm too stubborn to buy any more.

So far for our baby we have bought.... A carseat with matching stroller and two carseat basses, diapers, and a baby bath. I am so excited for this baby to come that I just want time to fly by!!!!  Last week I was thinking we were having a boy and this week I feel it's a girl! but we still have quite some time until we find out.

13 4/7 Weeks. This is a really full of food belly and on of the rare times the belly decides to be big.

1st of Many

On July 6th our first Doctors appointment arrived and this is what happened...

The first big thing they did was draw my blood. YUCK! but i'm pretty sure Mitch enjoyed it though, for the first time I'm the patient and he gets to laugh. So I really don't like needles okay.

I'm chewing ice when Dr. Savage comes in and we talk about some things. The exam has begun and I make Mitch hold my hand. I have never had a pap smear so this was the day to do it.
Above all the best part of the visit and the most memorable was when doctor Savage was saying sometimes we can't hear the heart beat this early and it can take a while to find it... the second she placed this thing on my belly we could just hear the heart beat going so fast (beating at 163). You wouldn't think it would make you feel so happy but It was the most wonderful sound to hear! I was so happy I laughed and then we couldn't find the heart beat again.

I just can't wait to go to the doctor again and hear our little baby's heart beat again!

Special Gift

This is a story about how we found out we were pregnant.

We were on vacation in AZ and I was late,  we were not sure if we were pregnant, so I wasn't sure if I should get in the hot tub all three times that I did. I was not sick or anything, just normal me. Mitch and I debated if we should take a test when we returned or wait a week.

So we returned to UT and the following day was Mitchels 25th birthday! His work buddies took him out to JDawgs and I surprised Mitch by meeting them there with the bosses daughter. Afterward I bought a pregnancy test  and waited a couple hours before I took it. Lo and behold it read 'Pregnant'!!!!!
Now how am I gonna tell Mitch?? I texted him to let him know I got the results and was not gonna text it to him. He started to belive that the results were negative. I decided to write a little note that said I finally figured out what to get him for his birthday but he couldn't have it for another nine months. I left this note on our front door. When he got home, boy was he excited!!!
To celebrate his birthday and the pregnancy we went to Mi Ranchitos!! Then to the bookstore to buy  me a pregnancy book. Last trip was to the theatre to watch the new Men In Black three movie.

It was the best birthday ever!!
